BUCHAREST
Per Pete:
"The Paris of the East, Bucharest has gone through many highs and unfortunately quite a few lows. Emerging from a communist regime, the city and country looks to be rebounding quite nicely. I loved Bucharest and Romania in general. I though it was a beautiful pace. it doesn't hurt that my girlfriend is Romanian and I received a local and personalized tour of the country."
I've also heard that Sofia and Budapest are the Paris's of the East. They are all worth visiting.

IASI
Per Pete:
"Pronounce Yash, I cut my stay in Chisinau a night short to get across the border and stay in Iais for one night. I'm glad I did - it's a beautiful university town with an awesome castle and brand new mall. It was a quick but enjoyable stay."

COUNTRY SIDE
Per Pete:
"I spent five days traveling the beautiful Romanian countryside. A friend of Diana's grandmom served as a personal tour guide through the region. I would definitely like to return soon."
Yeah - I need to make it here, Ukraine and the whole Caucasus region. Fly into Kiev, then down to Romania/Bulgaria, across Turkey, then Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
