SALZBURG
Per Pete:
"Salzburg is a great stop along the Eurail. It's an hour and a half southeast of Munich and about five hours west of Vienna. Salburg is famous for music - it's Mozart's birthplace, as well as, a filming location for The Sound of Music. It's city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site."

HALLSTATT
Per Pete:
"I stopped here from Salzburg on my way to Vienna. It was a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. It's a beautiful train ride through the mountain and lake region of Austria and you pass many amazing looking towns. I remember reading about Hallstatt in a National Geographic Traveler magazine. It looked amazing then and lived up to my expectations when I arrived."
