Graduate Hospital is the west Broad equivalent to Queen’s Village but it’s missing the restaurant and shopping scene. The neighborhoods main corridor is west South Street which always seems business with activity and draws an older, more sophisticated crowd than what scurries along east South Street. I haven’t spent much time in this neighborhood because like Queen’s Village it’s a bit tricky to reach and parking can be brutal. I’ve always liked the closed / pedestrian only triangle park at the intersection where Grays Ferry starts heading southwest from South Street because of the outdoor tables and chairs that give the neighborhood a European feel.
I keep intending to eat a meal at the Balkan Express because I get cravings for cezpapi but the restaurant maintains odd hours and never seems to be open when I’m in the area.
