Like most Americans my first long distance vacation and the first time I flew on a plane was to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World. I don't remember much from the trip other than the hotel pool had a pretty sweet waterfall.
I've had three other beach related trips to Florida since then - Sanibel on the Gulf coast and two spring break adventures - one in New Smyrna Beach and another all the way down to Key West.
Florida is also home to one of the major misses in my travels - Miami. Miami has constantly been at the top of my next destinations list I've just never been able to pull the trigger and now with the opening of Cuba looming it may get pushed off again. Or not. Add Miami to the list of 2016 destinations.
