Dia Pai Dong's are difficult to describe but you'll know one when you see one. In short, it's a street stall...that may or may not be on the street. At their core it's the traditional form of dining out for Hong Kong's non-tycoon crowd. Some stalls and restaurants offer wide ranging menus that cover all the Chinese classics, in particular the Guangdong region. Others specialize in a single dish, such as noodles, while others have diversified to offer Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, and even Italian cuisine. The easiest way to find these restaurants is using the Dai Pai Dong filter on Open Rice.
Cooked Food Centres offer a consolidation of multiple Dai Pai Dongs. The listings below exist outside the CFC environment.

TAI CHUNG WAH
539 FOK WING STREET
As good, if not better, than any Cooked Food Centre in terms of quality, value, and atmosphere. This restaurant's signature, pork knuckle, is as good a single entry as any in the city. The restaurant seats 400+ people but "the around the block" seating creates a more intimate and unique environment. The only drawback is there is nothing else in the area.
