COIMBATORE

I love Coimbatore and have a deep affection for the city where I worked for two weeks back in 2008.  Despite being a city of three million plus, it will not register on any Tourist Guide's must see lists...in some cases it will not even appear on the country map.  It lacks attractions.  It lacks tourist infrastructure.  However, if you are in India for a long-term visit I think it's worthwhile to break away from the cities with "Must See" attractions.  The lesser known cities have just the same level of activity and provide a glimpse into Indian life outside the tourist zone.
