A collection of Charlotte's firsts, and fortunately, for many, if not all of these, it won't be her last.
CHARLOTTE'S FIRST PHILLIES GAME - May 21, 2023
Lola and Papa were very excited to bring Charlotte to her first baseball game. I looked at the match up against the Cubs and thought, "what better way to introduce baseball to Charlotte than a game between the two losingest franchises in sports history". Fortunately, the Phillies won 2-1 - maybe Charlotte becoming a fan will change a millennium of losing. It was a Sunday "Phanatic About Reading" game where every child received a story about the Phillie Phanatic. Lola and Papa weren't the only ones excited to bring a younger one to the game - inside the stadium it seemed like for every adult there were two kids. Charlotte seemed to be more interested playing inside the retired number "statues" on the concourse than the actual game - that is until Lola tried to sneak in with a photo with her.

CHARLOTTE'S FIRST TIME IN NEW YORK CITY: May 23, 2023
In an age of small-town renaissances bouyed by coffee roasters and microbreweries, I feel like New York City has lost a bit of its cache. Maybe a first trip to New York City doesn't quite live up to the hype as it did in the past. Maybe I'm wrong. Charlotte may (definitely will not) remember this trip but it was a lot of fun taking her to the City's iconic sites for the first time.

Charlotte's first time at the movies!!! The Lion King was back in theaters for a limited time - can't ask for a better first movie experience. Charlotte was definitely following along (Mufasa is only sleeping) and was engaged through the entire movie.
