Chai Wan, the far east stop on the MTR Island Line, contains a collection of public housing high rises and a few other sites. The Law Uk Museum is a five minute walk from Exit C of the MTR Station. It's not really a "museum" but instead a restored Hakka home. There are three rooms inside showing home life. Chai Wan's action area is east of the MTR Station heading towards the water front. A covered walkway cuts through a mall before reaching the neighborhoods major thoroughfare. There is the Chai Wan Cooked Food Centre - which was a bit of a disappoint. Next time I'll eat at one of the restaurants along the main street. Across the street from the Cooked Food Centre / Market is a small park and a pedestrian street which leads to another park, centered between several public housing estates. and another, smaller Cooked Food Centre / Market.
If you continue walking another twenty minutes or so, you will eventually reach an upscale (from appearances anyway) apartment unit with a small waterfront promenade.
