My parents were really into country music back in the day and a trip to Nashville soon followed. Opryland amusement park and hotel were great and hearing Randy Travis perform at the Grand Ole Opry was another highlight.
Memphis is another great, underrated city. Maybe it's not as great as I think it is because the great times I've had here may make the memory more fuzzy. The open carry laws certainly had an impact. Memphis has great Bar-B-Que - there's just one critical decision to make - wet or dry ribs.
On the eastern end of the state is Knoxville and Good Ol' Rocky Top! There was a point when a University of Tennessee football game was the pinnacle of the college weekend experience.
