I am jealous of many places and spend many hours wondering what it would have been like to grow up and live somewhere else. As someone from the Philadelphia area it pains me to state that one of the places I am most jealous of is New England. There's a balanced edge that New Englanders have that separates them from the rest of the country - they are competitive and tough but also produce a crop of great comedians. I attribute the edge to the fact that this is where America's second group of settlers arrived and every winter they grind through cold weather. Boston is only a five hour drive from Philadelphia (although it seems farther) so I try to make it up to this part of the country once or twice a year - Spring, Summer, and Fall - I'm not tough enough for Winter.
