New Mexico has been a part of several cross-country trips, however, I've never spent much time here other than just seeing the sites and spending a few nights in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Albuquerque (a stranger, poorer version of Portland) couldn't be any more different than Santa Fe (rich white liberals running art galleries). If it weren't for similar town squares and Spanish architecture you'd think you were in different states. There're additional sites beyond those cities: Roswell was a pretty interesting spot. White Sands was deserted during the winter. And I eventually need to reach Taos. |
