HELL'S GATE AND LAKE NAIVASHA
After a few days spent in the confines of a safari van Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha offers a reprieve as you can walk around an area that's free of predators (I think). You can bike through the park and pass herds of zebra and giraffe or you can drive to the end for a short hike through a gorge. We had a terrific guide...George of the Gorge, who was an expert in all the horticultural life of Kenya. This was also a nice night to not sleep in a tent and enjoy a restaurant kitchen prepared meal.
The animals may not have been as impressive in this park but we all got a kick out of watching the warthogs scamper all over the place. These guys don't seem like the most graceful animals but they have a rhythmic prance that's hilarious to watch when they run away.
The walk through the gorge lead to the view to the right. That view was supposedly the view that inspired the view from Pride Rock in the film The Lion King.
