I lived in Hong Kong and Singapore for a few months, was on a tight budget, but wanted to explore and see new neighborhoods. The challenge was "what do you type into Google as a destination in an area with no destinations when you want to get a vibe for the neighborhood?". The answer? Coffee shops and bars. Hit up a coffee shop. Walk around. Hit up a bar. Walk around. Return home. Since 2015, I believe I've managed to visit nearly every coffee shop and microbrewery in the Philadelphia region (somewhat limited on the NJ and DE side) and expanded to include local bars. Unfortunately, I did not take many photos or chronicle the experiences as well as I would have liked...which means I'm going to need to redo the "tour". The two pages below are focus on my alcohol and caffeine explorations around the Philadelphia area.
